One bed, two foot clearances

With the dresser opposite the bed

In the dressing-gallery bedroom, the bed is 1.6 m wide. The dresser leaves 0.73 m at the foot. Check this gap against the depth of an open drawer before deciding where to put the dresser.

With the dresser to one side

Move the dresser fully out of the strip in front of the bed. With the bed still in its starting position, the foot reading now reaches the wall at 1.26 m. Try it on the drawing above.

Will a king bed fit in the guest bedroom?

In the 3.6 m-wide guest room, the 1.93 m-wide king bed leaves 1.67 m between its two sides and the walls combined. Select Guest bedroom and King bed to see how that space is split. Then check the wardrobe, door swing and the measurements of your actual bed frame.

Are the side readings clear walkways?

They measure from each side of the bed to the wall. A nightstand or wardrobe can occupy part of that distance. Follow the route from the doorway on the plan to see where furniture interrupts it.

Why does the distance at the foot change when I move the dresser?

The reading stops at the nearest furniture footprint straight ahead of the bed, or at the wall if there is nothing in the way. Move the dresser to one side and compare the new gap. Allow for the depth of an open drawer separately.

Can I check a bed frame with different dimensions?

Use the catalogue sizes here to compare arrangements. Measure your frame including its headboard, open the layout in Studio and set the bed’s width and depth in its properties.

Which settings carry into Studio?
